IN fine voice . . . the Oldham Choir performing a favourite carol
Singers were in fine voice for the annual Oldham Evening Chronicle festival of carols at Oldham Parish Church.
The service was conducted by the Rev Derek Palmer, and music was from the Thornham St James’s and Christ Church CE Primary schools, the Oldham Band (Lees), the Oldham Choir and Musical Friends. Soloists Suzanne Mather, Gary Jones and Mike McCaw were accompanied by Anthony Quimby, and Lesley Abbot read a festive passage from Laurie Lee’s “Cider with Rosie”.
A collection was held for the Oldham Liaison of Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare fund.
