LATICS have teamed up with Oldham Community Leisure to create a veterans’ league.
The 5-a-side league is aimed at over-35s and club bosses hope to give older football fans the chance to play in an organised and competitive format.
Organisers hope the league will encourage more people to get into sport and increase their activity levels
Matches will be held on Thursdays at Saddleworth Leisure Centre in the New Year.
Oldham Athletic has a masters team formed from past legends such as Tony Philliskirk that play against other professional football clubs.
Now, people who have either played for years or who are maybe even just starting out will be able to play.
Jamie Blood, Oldham Athletic Community Trust, Football Development Coordinator said: “This is a great chance for people over 35 to get involved with playing football at a competitive level.”
For further information contact Jamie on 0161-678 8464 or 0750 082 2277.
