CLOSED . . . the road under Hardman Lane bridge
BUSES, traffic and pedestrians will be affected when repair work closes Hardman Lane in Failsworth as part of the Metrolink project to bring trams to Rochdale via Oldham.
The work on the railway bridge will close a section of Hardman Lane under the bridge, the site of the old Failsworth rail station, to all traffic from Monday until May.
Traffic, including the 151 and 159 bus services, will be diverted along Nuthurst Road, Broadway and Oldham Road and pedestrian access along Hardman Lane will be by a covered walkway under the bridge.
The bus stops in Hardman Lane will be closed for the duration of the work and passengers are advised to use the next available normal stops for both services. Neither serrvice will pick up passengers from stops along the diversion route
The Metrolink work will see trams run to Central Park in Manchester by spring 2011, Oldham Mumps by autumn 2011 and Rochdale by spring 2012.
