School hit by flood

YOUNGER pupils at St Augustine’s RC high school will be getting extra Christmas holidays following a festive flood on Boxing Day.
Oldham Council’s First Response team were called out after detecting a problem on site at 6.50am.
Some parts of the school suffered water damage but council staff were able to prevent more substantial damage.
As a result, a partial school closure is in place next week due to scheduled repair and assessment work.
The school will re-open to Year 10 and Year 11 pupils only on Monday.
Year 9 pupils can return on Tuesday.
Parents of Year 7 and Year 8 pupils will be told on Tuesday morning when their children can return to school.
