Burglar goes on the run

Missing burglar . . . Jay Wellington.
A 21-YEAR-OLD man is being hunted by police after going on the run.
Jay Wellington breached his licence after failing to return to his bail hostel in Oldham.
He was sentenced to two years in prison in November, 2008, for a burglary, and released on licence on November 10 last year.
But he has remained at large after being recalled to prison on December 12 for failing to return to his bail hostel.
Police are now appealing to the public to help locate Wellington and are urging anyone who knows of his whereabouts to come forward.
It is believed he has connections to the Hattersley, West Gorton, Clayton and Longsight areas of Manchester.
Sgt Nick Helme said: “Wellington has been on the run since he failed to return to his bail hostel, knowing that breach means he has to go back to prison to complete the rest of his sentence.
“I would urge anyone who knows of his whereabouts to call police so we can find Wellington and send a message that anyone who breaches their licence will end up back behind bars.”
Anyone with information should call Greater Manchester Police on 0161-872 5050 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
