A 24-YEAR-OLD man had two teeth knocked out during a fight in Oldham town centre.
The victim got into an argument with two men and two women in Union Street at 1.30am on January 1.
The confrontation turned violent, leaving the victim with two teeth knocked out and bruising and swelling to his face.
One of the teeth went through his lip, leaving a wound that needed stitches.
The first man was white, about 5ft 4in tall, with dark shaved hair. He was wearing jeans and a blue hooded top. The second man was also white, with shaved dark hair and wearing a dark jumper.
One of the women was white, with long curly dark hair and wearing a black dress and a pink scarf. The other woman was Asian, with long dark hair tied back and wearing a blue top, black trousers and gold earrings.
Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information about what happened to come forward.
Det Con Kate Dawson, from Oldham CID, said: “At this time of night there would have been a lot of people who may have seen this attack, as it was the early hours of New Year’s Day. If you did, please come forward.
“Town centre violence unfortunately grabs the headlines, but the vast majority of people who go out for a night out do so safely and responsibly, and we are constantly working with our partners to make Oldham a safe place to work in and visit.
“That is why it is so important we punish those who behave in this aggressive way.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Oldham CID on 0161-856 8951 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
