Have a say on next year’s budget plans

OLDHAMERS are being invited to have their say on council proposals for next year’s budget.
All six district partnerships will hold special meetings where staff from the council’s finance department will explain the current and projected budget situation and answer public questions.
Councillor Rod Blyth, Cabinet member for people and communities, said: “This is an opportunity for anyone to come along, hear first-hand what the budget proposals are — and ask questions.
“It is important that all citizens have the opportunity to understand exactly what the proposals are and, with this information, influence what goes on through filling in the the on-line budget simulator.”
The dates and times for the budget consultation are as follows :
:: West Oldham — tonight at 6pm, Crompton Suite, civic centre.
:: Royton & Shaw —Tuesday at 5.15pm, St Paul’s Methodist Church Hall, Rochdale Road, Shaw.
:: Failsworth & Hollinwood — Wednesday at 6.15pm, Crompton Suite, civic centre.
:: Chadderton — Wednesday at 6.15pm, Kingfisher School, Foxdenton Lane.
:: East Oldham — Thursday, February 4, at 6pm, Groundwork Environment Centre, Shaw Road, Higginshaw.
:: Saddleworth & Lees — Thursday, February 4, at 6pm, Uppermill Civic Hall.
