More snow may be on the way

OLDHAMERS are being warned to brace themselves — more heavy snow might be coming our way this week.
Forecasters are predicting around 4ins between tomorrow and Thursday night — but only if temperatures fall significantly.
Chronicle weatherman Damian Rodgers said: “Snow is predicted but I think it may be a bit too warm.
“Personally, I don’t think we will see much snow unless we get a blast of cold air.”
Councillor Mark Alcock, Cabinet member for the environment and infrastructure, said: “If the forecasters are correct, the snow could be on its way back.
“But as we have shown over the last few weeks, the council is very well prepared.
“Our fleet of gritters will be out pre-gritting the roads and over the last few days staff from the Highways Department have been out across the borough filling up many of our 550 grit bins.
“If the snow does return I would urge everyone to take extra precautions and if you are in a position to help others out, you should do so.”
