DRUGS den . . . Harrison Joe Trelfa outside the vandalised Wendy house
DRUGGIES and vandals have ruined outdoor play for the toddlers at Fitton Hill’s only playgroup.
Krafty Kids meet in a room at the New Bridge Learning Centre in St Martin’s Road, but the yobs set fire to their plastic outdoor toys.
Cannabis smokers have damaged the wooden Wendy house, leaving drug debris inside and scrawling graffiti.
Manager Tracey Price said: “We have security fencing but for the past few weekends they seem to have been coming over the roof.
“We have a covered play area but they have been setting fire to the cars, snapping the wheels off and smoking cannabis in the play house.
“It’s a wooden shed where we have a story corner and now we have had to close it off. We will have to take the children on to the grass outside for some fresh air.
“Who ever did this has scrawled their graffiti tags and we hope someone will recognise it and know who is responsible, and people may become more vigilant around the school
“We are the only playgroup on this estate and without it the children would have nowhere to go.”
Tracey, who has passed details of the attacks to the police, has managed the playgroup for three years since it opened. It has 17 children and three staff.
