FORGET Susan Boyle, Paul Potts and Diversity . . . the borough’s youngsters have got the O-Factor.
Bollywood glamour, salsa, drama, singing, choral speaking and music were all on the bill at a talent showcase at Oldham Coliseum.
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Jim McArdle, decided to resurrect the event which was originally held a few years ago.
Around 250 pupils from primary and secondary schools, as well as Oldham Music Service, took part to raise money for his mayoral charity appeal.
Councillor McArdle thanked the sponsor, construction firm Emanuel Whittaker, for its support and said: “It was absolutely fabulous. It is children going on a live stage — an experience they will never forget.
“We have got a lot more good kids than bad kids and we must remember that.
“The talent they have got is fantastic and every school was excellent.”
