Switched on to BBC jobs
Date published: 25 January 2010
UNIVERSITY students have found out more about working for Auntie.
The BBC visited University Campus Oldham (UCO) to talk about job opportunities at Mediacity in Salford Quays.
The development will be the Beeb’s new northern base and several departments — including Radio fivelive — are relocating there, creating hundreds of jobs.
Five students were also invited by the BBC to attend the Create and Connect Conference in February which will be attended by comedy duo Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.
Digital journalism students at UCO have already worked with actor Sir Patrick Stewart, Oldham Athletic, the BBC and Oldham Council.
UCO head Debbie Bridge said: “It is a fantastic start to our five-year anniversary celebrations.
“Through our partnership with the BBC, our talented students will have the opportunity to show off their skills and achievements when jobs become available at Mediacity next year.”
