Raising funds for Haiti
Date published: 25 January 2010
GENEROUS residents enjoyed a night of music and dancing to raise much-needed funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal.
Oldham Community Radio and the Anglo West Indian Social Club hosted the event on Saturday at the social club in Primrose Bank.
Members and visitors enjoyed music by DJs and special guests, bought tasty food and took part in raffles.
The amount raised on the night, which still has to be counted, will go to helping the Caribbean nation which suffered a devastating earthquake on January 12.
Moses Jones, event organiser and presenter on Oldham Community Radio, said: “We had a really good turn-out. There was a lot of dancing and a good time was had by all.”
