Three cheers for St Herbert’s
Date published: 01 February 2010
TIME of our life . . . impressive moves from Knowsley Juniors
YOUNG cheerleaders donned their finest sequins and shook their pom poms for the chance to win a spectacular prize.
Teams from seven local primary schools took part in the cheerleading competition at the Millennium Centre in Westwood.
The contest was organised by the council’s youth service, Pete Scrivens, a tutor at Oldham College, and his Btec sports students.
Each team had to perform a routine complete with twirls, pom-pom shaking and chants.
The overall winners were the team from St Herbert’s Primary School in Chadderton.
They won the chance to perform at half time during a Northern Thunder Premier League netball match, which will be screened by Sky TV.
