Author hands £2,000 gift to troops’ charity

AN Oldham author has donated £2,000 proceeds from his new book to the Afghan Heroes, a charity supporting British forces in Afghanistan.

Stephen Sutherland, a Bardsley-born stock market investor now living in Mossley, took part in a signing of his new book “Liquid Millionaire” at Waterstones in the Trafford Centre.

Stephen and his brother Paul Sutherland, who are joint directors in the family firm ISACO Ltd, had pledged to donate £20 for every book sold to the Afghan Heroes charity.

But instead of donating £1,400 raised from the sale of 70 copies of the book, they decided to round it up from their own pockets.

“Liquid Millionaire” describes how Oldham-born Stephen combined his stock market expertise with his knowledge of ISAs (Individual Savings Accounts) to create a new way of investing.
