BUDDING musicians can pick up tips from a leading expert in the field.
Cartmel Priory organist Adrian Self is hosting a training afternoon at St Paul’s Church, Royton, on February 6.
Four members of Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside Organists Association will take part in the workshop, including 16-year-old Crompton House pupil Danny Devall.
They range from beginners to experienced players and visitors can sit in on the session which starts a 2.30pm.
The association regularly visits and plays some of the country’s finest organs.
During a visit to Paris in 2008, members sat in the organ loft at Notre Dame Cathedral during mass and played the instrument at the Church of St Sulpice where part of the film “The Da Vinci Code” was filmed.
