Attacked in own home

TWO robbers attacked a 46-year-old man with a screwdriver in his own home while his wife and three children slept upstairs.
The drama unfolded when the duo burst into the house in Alexander Drive, Milnrow, at 10.30pm on Tuesday.
When the shocked resident got up and confronted the thugs, one attacked him with a screwdriver.
The pair then fled with a purse and handbag containing cash and a mobile phone.
Police are hunting two white men, one is 5ft 6in tall, of medium to slight build, and about 18-years-old. He was wearing a light-coloured jacket and a dark woollen hat.
His accomplice is about 5ft 8in tall. He wore a dark-coloured hat and dark jacket.
It is believed the pair broke into the house through the porch.
The victim suffered bruising to his body and a bloody nose, but did not need hospital treatment.
Det Con Keith Baron said: “While we seldom deal with incidents like this, we are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything untoward to call us.”
