Man bailed over hit and run

A 24-year-old Royton man was arrested and bailed in connection with the death of a teenager in a hit-and-run incident nearly three years ago.
Promising rugby player Adam O’Toole, from Holmfirth, was hit by a Rover 200 as he crossed Salendine Nook, Huddersfield, on March 6, 2007.
The 18-year-old student died from his injuries.
Police believed the driver may live in Oldham because the car fled toward the M62. There were also sightings in the borough of a damaged vehicle matching its description.
Adam’s family and friends visited Oldham to hand out flyers in a bid to track down those responsible. The case was also featured on “Crimewatch” after more than 2,000 people signed a petition.
