YOUNGSTERS, parents, carers and childcare workers are invited to have their say on the future of play areas in Oldham.
The council is undertaking a two-year programme to improve 22 play sites across the borough funded by a £1.2 million Government grant as part of the Playbuilder programme.
A series of community events will be held to allow residents to look at the plans and share their thoughts.
All the work carried out will take account of the specific needs in each area, make use of natural elements and cater for children with disabilities.
The parks will allow children of different ages to play together and offer them somewhere to burn off energy and relax.
To keep residents fully involved in the planning of their play area the council held a series of consultation events in last year and the feedback was used to develop the plans.
Councillor Mark Alcock, cabinet member for environment and infrastructure, said: “The Playbuilder programme is not only helping the council to transform the borough’s play sites but will also give youngsters of all ages the opportunity to play with the best facilities possible.
“It is important people tell us what they want so we can take their views on board and make sure their local play areas cater for their needs.”
