£110,000 for park
Date published: 12 February 2010
RESIDENTS in Oldham are being encouraged to have their say on proposals for a new play area in Leesbrook Nature Park.
Last year, Oldham Council was successful in bidding for over £650,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Adventures in Play programme.
It now plans to use £110,000 to create the new play area in Leesbrook Nature Park, off Constantine Street, Greenacres.
Councillor Mark Alcock, cabinet member for Environment and Infrastructure, said: “It is important that we take into consideration the views of local residents and what they think about the proposed location before starting to plan such a major investment in the area.”
For more information about the scheme and to fill in a questionnaire visit Lees Library from tomorrow until March 5, or alternatively go to www.oldham.gov.uk/leesbrook-playscape.
