BAE jobs blow
Date published: 12 February 2010
BAE Systems plans to cut 41 management jobs at its Chadderton offices, it has been revealed.
Staff at Military Air Solutions in Greengate are being consulted over job losses because of the retirement of the RAF’s Nimrod MR2 squadron at RAF Kinloss in Scotland a year early.
Staff at Chadderton support the MR2, which is being replaced by the Woodford-built Nimrod MR4.
Kevin Taylor, managing director of Military Air Solutions, which currently has 265 staff, said: “While we regret having to make this announcement we have to respond to the changes in the UK’s defence programme.
“We will work with our employees and their representatives to explore ways of mitigating these potential job losses.”
