OLDHAM Owls sports club has teamed up with Oldham Community Leisure to bring new and exciting sporting opportunities for young people with disabilities.
The Owls, Oldham’s well known disability sports club, are running multi-sports sessions at the Radclyffe Athletics Centre in Chadderton every Sunday.
The two-hour sessions start at noon and children, aged eight to 16, with any disability can take part in trampolining, wheelchair basketball, boccia – similar to French boules played from a seat with a hard-leather ball on a badminton-sized court – new age kurling, which is based on curling but is played in a sports hall rather than on ice, table tennis and badminton.
The aim is to break down barriers and get as many people with disabilities as possible involved in sport.
