Youngsters get with the routine during half-term at Grange School
Youngsters were given a taste of an exciting new dance style thanks to the Oldham Athletic Community Trust.
Children of all ages signed up for some half-term fun at Grange School eager to give Street Cheer a go.
The sessions, which blend street dancing and cheerleading, acted as an introduction for newcomers and a chance for regulars to learn some new moves.
Dance coach Wendy Noble said: “We saw an exciting form of dance and had incredible fun — that’s how we want the children to see it. It’s not regimented or strict.
“If you’re having fun you don’t realise you’re exercising which is great for the children, much better than them sitting at home in front of the television.”
Weekly regulars who attend classes at The Little Cot, Chadderton, often get the chance to show off their skills in front of Latics fans at home matches.
Wendy Nolan, who helps run the scheme, said: “It’s about getting people through the door. Once they see what we do, they are often hooked.”
