OLDHAM demonstrated its artistic flair and diversity during a global celebration.
The Coliseum Theatre took part in World Community Arts Day and invited everyone to take part, with six local youngsters from O-UR Stage theatre company taking up the offer.
The group rehearsed its on-going inter-cultural project about the perceptions of young people in the local community and the challenges and pressures they face.
The finished piece will eventually be performed to youth groups around the borough and a special finale performance of the project will take place at the Coliseum on Friday.
O-UR Stage participants are from the Barnardos Asha Project and secured Kerrching funding last year — a young person community-based funding body. O-UR Stage works closely with the Coliseum’s Education and Outreach department.
Outreach manager Jennifer Penton said: “I’m really excited to be connecting the O-UR Stage work to the global stage.
“The mission of the project is to work with diverse communities and being part of the World Community Arts Day does just that.”
