Love’s young dream, 30 years on

Janice and Robert: together at last
IT was love at second sight for Oldham-born entertainer Janice Yorke and her pop star fiancee Robert Young.
The pair first met in the 70s when Janice (54) from Chadderton was touring the country as support act to Bernard Manning and Robert (55) was hitting the charts with The Ivy League and Sweet Dreams.
The romance didn’t last long and the couple went their separate ways and married other people before being reunited in Blackpool last year.
After 30 years apart, the lovebirds decided they couldn’t live without each other any longer and got engaged on Valentine’s Day.
They will get married later this year before moving to Robert’s house in Marbella where they will continue to perform in clubs and bars.
