DUMPED . . . Pennine Pen secretary Julie Flanagan with Phoebe (front) and Bobo
HEAVILY pregnant Phoebe was dumped at a Hathershaw animal centre along with Bobo, the father of her unborn litter.
Staff at Pennine Pen found the cats near bins outside their centre in Honeywell Lane on Sunday.
Secretary Julie Flanagan said: “We are already extremely overcrowded and when these kittens are born the situation will be even worse. The credit crunch has led to more people than ever before dumping their animals because they can’t afford to look after them anymore.”
Pennine Pen is a charity that rehomes unwanted animals and helps people on low incomes neuter their pets.
If you could adopt an animal, call Pennine Pen on 0161-621 0819 or visit www.penninepen.org.uk .
