Proud night for high-flying cadets

A YEAR of hard work paid off for cadets from the 2200 (Oldham) Squadron Air Training Corps with an awards evening.
The event at Hollinwood’s Bower Hotel saw them enjoy a formal dinner and prize-giving ceremony.
It was attended by Oldham Mayor Councillor Jim McArdle, Mayoress Councillor Kay Knox and squadron commander Flt Lt Mike Holroyd, with Wing Commander Steve Molloy as guest speaker. The cadets, who meet at Wellyhole Street, Lees, find out all about the RAF and work towards Duke of Edinburgh awards as well as sporting and shooting prowess. An ATC spokesman said: “We are very proud of them.”
