THERE will soon be a single point of contact for any Oldhamers interested in volunteering.
The council has commissioned North-West Network (NWN) to establish and deliver PS Volunteering (Public Sector Volunteering) which launches on Monday.
There are many different volunteering opportunities within public sector organisations in Oldham, including the council and health services.
Whatever your background interests and skills are there are lots of different things people can do.
Councillor Rod Blyth, cabinet member for people and communities, said: “The council is committed to involving volunteers as it recognises the additional skills, experiences and value that this brings to the whole community.
“Their skills and experience coupled with sheer enthusiasm make a fantastic difference to the whole community.”
There will be an information stand at the Annual Voluntary Sector Fair on Tuesday at the Centre for Professional Development in Rosary Road, Fitton Hill 1-5pm.
