Date published: 08 March 2010
Oldham’S Queen Elizabeth Hall will be filled with the sound of music as hundreds of talented youngsters mark the 40th anniversary of a national charity.
Music For Youth is the world’s largest youth music festival and has seen more than 2.3 million children take part of the last four decades.
The Oldham Regional Festival takes place on Sunday (10am-4pm) and will involve musicians from Oldham, Manchester, Stockport, Glossop and Moston.
More than 1,900 groups will take part in the regional stages culminating in a National Festival of Music for Youth, a six-day celebration of youth music-making in Birmingham in July.
