NHS puts its trust in Reg

A CHADDERTON business manager is back on the board of NHS Oldham.
Reg Lord has been re-appointed to the board by the Appointments Commission, in which he has been a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee for three years.
In his current role as head of business management at The University of Salford’s Business School, Mr Lord is responsible for finance and accounting, human resource management and managing information technology and business programmes.
The grandfather-of-two has worked with Oldham, Rochdale and Salford councils as an accountant and auditor and has a masters degree in management.
Mr Lord is on a four-year term until February 28, 2014, and will receive £13,136 per annum.
He said: “Having worked with colleagues at NHS Oldham for the past three years, I am proud to continue to be a part of the team determined to deliver a first-class range of health services to the people of Oldham.
“I also want to help to ensure all people are better able to access those very high-quality health services available.”
Riaz Ahmad, chair of NHS Oldham, said: “Reg has the skills and experience we need to help us move forward with the challenges we will be facing in the coming years.
“He will help us to make the most of our resources to continue to improve local people’s lives and health.”
