A VICAR from Chadderton and the manager of an optician’s from Royton are part of Mucho Gusto, five wandering minstrels singing arias, operatic recitals and songs from the shows.
Mucho Gusto is the creation of Chris Robinson, (46), from Stalybridge-based IT firm 24/7 Uptime.
He said: “I started singing with the Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society three years ago and met some fantastically talented people. I’m delighted that some of them have chosen to join Mucho Gusto.”
The members of Mucho Gusto have performed in various stage musicals as well as acting in many theatre productions across the North-West.
The tenor is John Simmons, the vicar at Christ Church, Chadderton for the past four years, who is also chaplain to Oldham Athletic and Oldham Coliseum. Soprano is Dawn Leigh, (30), who has been singing since she was six in Oldham Girl’s Choir. Dawn has been opera-trained since she was 13.
Dawn Nicholls, a policewoman from Todmorden, sings alto and her husband Paul, an engineer, is the musical director and piano accompaniment. They have two young daughters and met at Singlive at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
