Farewell to tenants’ champion

The funeral was taking place this morning of Mr Frank Terry (74), a tenants’ champion for the Sholver and East Oldham area.

Mr Terry helped to set up the arm’s length management organisation First Choice Homes Oldham, which manages local council houses.

He became an Oldham East board member and main board member in 2002, and was also the elected chairman for 10 years of Sholver Tenants’ Management Organisation, which fought to get investment into the estate.

The funeral was being held at St Thomas’s Church, Moorside.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and six grandchildren.
