Please return our history, pleads nurse

A NURSE manager at the Royal Oldham Hospital is appealing for the return of her history-book collection.
Susan Howard, who manages the Discharge Unit, had collected over 100 books with the theme of ‘Old Oldham’ for her patients to read.
But the books have steadily disappeared over the past five years and she is appealing for anyone who may have taken one to bring it back.
She said: “I have obtained many interesting photos of Oldham over the years and a large amount of soft and hardback books for all the patients young and not so young to reminisce.
“If you have taken a book home by mistake, including books about the Second World War, pubs in Oldham, music halls in Manchester and Oldham in the 1950s and 1960s, please could you return them so our patients today can also enjoy them.”
