Date published: 22 March 2010
OldhamERS can find out more about Metrolink at a series of information events this week.
The new tram line to Oldham and Rochdale is part of a £600 million expansion of the Metrolink network, which will also take in Droylsden, Chorlton and MediaCityUK in Salford.
Trams are on track from Oldham Mumps in the autumn of 2011. Residents are invited to Freehold Primary School, Sidmouth Street, tonight from 5 to 7pm; at Crompton Library, Farrow Street, Shaw, from 5 to 7pm on Wednesday; and at Shaw Road Conservative Club, Yates Street, Derker, from 5 to 7pm on Thursday.
Philip Purdy, GMPTE’s Metrolink director, said: “We are committed to keeping in touch with local residents and businesses throughout the construction of the new line.
“I would encourage people to come along to the information events to find out more about the plans and meet the team face to face to discuss any concerns or queries they have.”
