BUBBLING fun . . . Linzi Wicks (left) ensured there were plenty of fun experiments to keep pupils entertained when the Mad Science group visited Horton Mill Primary School in Oldham
EXPERIMENTS, explosions and close encounters were on the timetable when hundreds of pupils took part in a science extravaganza.
It was hands on with a range of exciting events as schools across the borough celebrated National Science Week.
At Hathershaw students got up close and personal with tarantulas, snakes and other reptiles, while birds of prey also swooped around the dining hall during a falconry display
Their activities culminated with a competition to design, construct and launch a rocket.
There was plenty of bubbling liquid and gloop when the organisation Mad Science visited Horton Mill Primary School, Chadderton.
Several schools also took part in activities at Oldham Sixth Form College. One challenge included making newspaper capsules to protect eggs dropped from a window.
