TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who died after being found collapsed in the centre of Oldham suffering a serious head injury.
Dave Allen (33) was found by two Police Community Support Officers at the junction of Horsedge Street and Shaw Street at 6.20pm on Friday.
He was rushed to hospital but died a few hours later.
Police had appealed for witnesses and initially treated his death as unexplained.
But a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the cause of death was head trauma and there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
He confirmed the matter has now been passed to the Oldham Coroner.
Family and friends paid their respects to Mr Allen in today’s Evening Chronicle with a tribute from his dad, brothers Carl and Chris, sisters Michelle and Charlene, girlfriend Nicola, nieces and nephews, and brother-in-laws Gareth and Ash reading: “Will be very sadly missed.”
Paddy and Donna Maguire said: “Gone but not forgotten.
“You’ll always be in our hearts, till we meet again mate.”
