FROM a small shop to an £80 million turnover — entrepreneur Nick Glynne shared the secret of his success at University Campus Oldham.
The managing director of buyitdirect.co.uk took part in a weekend-long conference for MBA (Master in Business Administration) students.
A former documentary filmmaker, Nick changed career when he bought a small IT shop in Huddersfield for £3,000.
He now sells televisions, computers and kitchen appliances on-line, as well as having a large showroom the West Yorkshire town. Other organisations at the event included the Chartered Management Institute and the York and North York Chamber of Commerce who were joined by academics.
Debbie Bridge, Head of the University of Huddersfield’s Oldham Campus said: “Oldham prides itself on keeping its academic courses close to the business community and it is important that our Oldham MBA students, from both the public and private sectors, learn from our entrepreneurs”.
