Pennine festival ideas are wanted

Date published: 29 March 2010

LOCAL groups and organisations in Oldham are being urged to think up new ways to make this year’s South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival the biggest and best yet.

Organiser John Manning, working on behalf of the regeneration company Pennine Prospects, wants event proposals from a wide range of local groups to boost the 16 day event in September.

Events organised especially for the festival are preferred, but organisations with suitable events already planned during the festival fortnight (September 11 – 26) are also encouraged to send information.

Submissions must be made by April 21.

Councillor Barbara Beeley, Oldham Council’s representative on the Pennine Prospects Board, said: “Last year’s social evening events were a great success and this year we would like to encourage even more.”

Details of how to submit your ideas are available from John Manning on 01729 822547 or 07919 978449, by emailing john@outdoorsmanning.com and on Oldham Council’s website at www.oldham.gov.uk/south-pennine-walking-festival-2010.htm
