Muggers pounce on boy, 14

Date published: 29 March 2010

A BOY was dragged down a dirt track by muggers who stole his laptop and mobile phone.

The 14-year-old was grabbed by his hood and legs by two teenagers in Wellyhole Street, Leesbrook.

He suffered minor back injuries when they dragged him from the main road and punched him when he tried to escape.

The attackers were both white and aged around 18. One had average build, was clean shaven and wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a black hoodie with Henleys written on the front in yellow.

His accomplice had light brown hair, a long fringe and was wearing a grey tracksuit with red Adidas stripes down the legs.

The robbery happened about 9.50pm on March 12 and PC Andrew Day said: “They clearly picked on this poor boy because he was young, alone and smaller than them.

“It must have been scary to be dragged down the road and mugged in the dark like this.

“However, as in any case where people have items like laptops stolen, I must remind people to always keep their valuables under wraps as they can be seen as easy pickings.”
