Would-be carjacker on the prowl

A MOTORIST suffered a cut hand during a struggle with a potential carjacker in Royton.
The 36-year-old driver was sitting in his Citroen Picasso car when a man grabbed him through an open window, telling him to get out.
The thug then came at the victim, who was parked up on Shaw Road at 2.35pm on Friday, with a Stanley knife.
The driver grabbed the robber’s hand to prevent him being attacked, causing injuries to the victim’s thumb and finger.
The man police want to question, is described as white, in is early 20s, around 5ft 8in tall, of medium build with a pale complexion and ginger/ strawberry blond eyebrows. He fled towards Salmon Fields.
The victim was treated in hospital for deep cuts.
PC Vicky Wray said: “The offender was armed and clearly intent on stealing the victim’s car.
“While he was not able to get anything he did leave the victim injured and anyone prepared to attack with a knife must not be allowed to roam the streets.
“If anyone has any information that can help identify the offender please get in touch.”
