First Choice get OK to build 12 new homes

Oldham’s council cabinet has given the green light on a £2 million scheme to build 12 new council houses.
Clyde Street, Watersheddings, will get two three-bedroom and two four-bedroom homes; Hawthorn Road, Hollinwood. will get two two-bedroom, two three-bedroom and one four-bedroom houses, and Rufford Close, High Crompton, will get one two bedroom, one three-bedroom and one four-bedroom house.
They will be funded by an £800,000 Challenge Fund grant, and borrowing, with the repayments fully covered by rents charged.
The houses will be built by First Choice Homes Oldham, and will be offered at “affordable” rents.
