BUSINESS brains at Royton and Crompton School turned career lessons into a profitable enterprise.
Year 10 students developed mini businesses as part of their annual enterprise project.
Younger pupils bought home-made cakes, sweets and savouries and took part in games such as penalty shoot outs, tombolas and raffles.
All money raised was donated to charity and this year pupils chose two causes close to their hearts.
The money was split with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) both receiving £1,736 in memory of former pupil Ashley Livesey, who died suddenly during a cross country run in 2004.
Barbara Garner, activity co-ordinator, said: ““Ashley was an outstanding pupil and the efforts invested by our pupils to be able to support these charities in memory of him is a fitting and touching tribute.”
