Glamour girl bids for TV wedding joy
OLDHAM glamour-girl Michelle Marsh thought it best to make a trip to the Saddleworth hills to ensure her TV wedding went without a hitch.
The former page-three model headed straight for Uppermill’s Blush Boutique when television bosses approached her to renew her wedding vows to ex-Latics skipper Will Haining in a celebrity version of Living TV’s “Four Weddings”.
The show sees the 27-year-old up against fellow celebs Faye Tozer, of pop-band Steps; Pete Bennett, winner of “Big Brother 7”; and former “EastEnders” actress Carol Harrison.
Michelle said: “I love the little village up here. The girls from Blush were absolutely fantastic from the moment I stepped through the door.
“You have to look after your own and it was important for me to source things for the wedding from local businesses, and it worked — everything from the cakes, the dress, the flowers, the whole thing was absolutely unbelievable.”
Blush Boutique features in the show on Monday after providing the Maggie Sottero dress for Michelle’s dream nuptials, while Mossley-based Diva Cakes was drafted in to create the cake and Hyde’s Red Floral Architecture provided the flowers for the fairy-tale event.
Owner of the Uppermill boutique, Wendy Kay, said: “Michelle was so down to earth and chose the second dress she tried on, we were really pleased she approached us — it was brilliant to see our dress in OK magazine.”
But thanks to a five-month pregnancy bump, the glamour puss can no longer get into the tight-fitting gown.
Lisa Hilton, who provided the cakes and chocolate favours for the wedding, said: “The whole set up showcased everyone’s work really well.
“Our three businesses often work together, brides feel secure that we can deliver what we promise and it’s great that we are all doing well in the current climate.”
Tune in to see if Team Marsh can beat the competition to win £5,000 for charity when the show is screened on Easter Monday at 9pm on Living TV.
