Bridge plunge inquiry

POLICE are investigating after a man was spotted falling from Scammonden Bridge, over the M62, on Saturday afternoon.
Detectives from West Yorkshire confirmed the body of a man was found near the bridge, between the Saddleworth exit, junction 22, and junction 23.
The incident happened at around 1pm on Saturday, and the eastbound carriageway of the motorway was closed until 5.15pm, causing severe congestion in the Calderdale area.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
