FIREFIGHTERS pulled a horse to safety after it became trapped up to the top of its legs in a mud pit in Failsworth yesterday.
Crews from Oldham and Chadderton were called to the unusual incident in Failsworth Road at 2.30pm.
Officers, who were joined by a Special Water Incident Unit from Heywood, used ropes and slings to lift out the animal.
The woman owner, who was with the horse, had managed to free herself and called the vet to check the horse over.
