Old times aren’t forgotten

A NURSE manager at the Royal Oldham Hospital has thanked donors for the return of some of her historic book collection.
Susan Howard had collected more than 100 books with the theme of “Old Oldham” for her patients to read.
But the books had steadily disappeared over the past five years.
Following an appeal in the Oldham Evening Chronicle, some of the books have been returned and new ones donated.
She said: “I would like to say a big thank-you to June Wolstencroft who donated a very large and interesting collection of over 30 books on behalf of her late brother, who had collected them for many years.
“Our patients are now enjoying and reminiscing.”
Anyone who may have taken a book home by mistake can still return it to the discharge unit.
