Raiders target sandwich shop

A ROYTON sandwich shop has been robbed for the second time this year — and the thieves got away with bacon and flapjacks.
Louise Benton, owner of Butties, in Edge Lane Street, was dismayed to find the security shutters wrenched open and a smashed window when she arrived for work on Saturday.
The offenders stole food as well as the empty till as well as causing over £1,000 of damage.
The shop was broken into in January when robbers stole cakes, chocolate and drinks leaving their rubbish strewn across the floor.
Louise (43), who has owned the shop for two years, said: “I could see the funny side the first time but this latest incident has really got me down.
“We have an alarm and security shutters but I suppose if someone really wants to get in they will find a way.
“It’s really upsetting but you just have to keep going.”
