WATERHEAD Academy bosses are believed to have become the first to replace their project managers.
They have appointed PKF after departing with the original team from Alligan before Christmas amid concerns about their performance.
This was followed by the replacement of principal designate Jackie Nellis by David Yates, head teacher at Heywood Community School, last month.
The Oldham College-run academy opens in September and will replace Breeze Hill and Counthill schools.
Pupils will stay in the existing building before moving to a new one in Waterhead in 2012.
Both Alligan and PKF are on a Government-approved list of consultants to help academy sponsors.
PKF has worked on 25 academy projects and Oldham College principal Alun Francis said: “They have wide experience of helping develop and open academies across the country.
“As part of the strong and professional team we have established, their very specific expertise will be invaluable.
“Significant and very positive changes have been implemented in recent weeks and I am confident we have the right plans in place for a successful opening in September.”
Announcements are expected on the academy’s curriculum, uniform and website.
