Kidnapped Sahil back in school
Date published: 22 April 2010
SAHIL Saeed, the Shaw boy who was kidnapped while on holiday in Pakistan, has gone back to school.
The five-year-old returned to Rushcroft Primary yesterday following his 12 day kidnap ordeal.
Sahil was snatched during an armed raid as he was preparing to fly back to Manchester on March 4 after a two-week visit to his grandmother’s house in Jhelum.
His kidnappers demanded a £110,000 ransom which was paid by his father Raja Saeed after the family cleared their savings and sold jewellery.
There were fireworks, and balloons and banners adorned Sahil’s family home in Queen Street on March 18 when the little boy was brought home.
A number of arrests were made in Europe in an Interpol sting and a suspect held in the Punjaab was killed in a shoot-out in Gujurat City last week after an attempt was made to free him from custody.
