Cathedral finale for choir

OLDHAM Choral Society will round off its 125th anniversary season with a performance of “The Dream of Gerontius” by Edward Elgar in Manchester Cathedral on Sunday, at 8pm.
The choir will be conducted by the director of music, Nigel Wilkinson, and will be accompanied by the East Lancs Sinfonia.
Soloists include alto Kathleen Wilkinson, bass David Soar and renowned tenor Adrian Thompson, who is travelling from Nantes in France especially for the concert.
The concert will be dedicated to the memory of James Eastham, the well known conductor who died from a heart attack last week.
