THE show will go on for a Woodhouses drama group who’s leading lady is stuck in Italy.
Members of the AODS will start their run of the Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera “Princess Ida” tomorrow at Woodhouses Church in Ashton Road.
Anne Butterworth, who plays the Princess, is stranded in Italy and unsure when she will be able to fly back as airlines struggle to gain control of schedules following the chaos caused by the Icelandic volcano ash cloud.
The group refused to let all their hard work go to waste and have drafted in former member Elizabeth O’Brien to take over Anne’s role until she is able to get home.
Tickets for the show are £6, and are available by calling Martin Luke on 0161-624 2000 for details.
